About RSL

RSL is part of the Sherwin-Williams Protective Coatings and Marine division EMEA and has become a supplier of choice for hundreds of specifiers, architects and major flooring contractors in numerous countries.

It employs some of the most respected teams of industrial chemists and technical support staff in the UK and continues to lead the way in manufacturing excellence and product innovation from its base in North West England.

Game changing products

  • Elladur™ is a game-changing product range launched just last year which has pushed back boundaries of fast-cure polyaspartic technology, reducing harmful emissions.
  • Resuthane™ is a market leader in the food and drink sector – a top polyurethane screed system which delivers a durable, hygienic and easy to maintain solution to flooring challenges of some the world’s biggest manufacturers.

Sustainable resin systems

RSL is one of the leading players in developing sustainable solutions in the resin systems marketplace. Decades of putting the environment first means reducing the impact of what the company does has become second nature. It is a truly embedded commitment which has established RSL as the UK manufacturer with the most comprehensive range of solvent-free,
water-based products.

View from the British Coatings Federation (BCF)

The BCF first produced a Sustainable Development policy in 2009 to drive best practice and as members of the Federation, RSL backs their ambition for the wider coatings industry to be best in environmental class. Read the latest BCF Sustainability Policy 2016 here.

Lowest ever VOC products – our latest story

Having a large range of solvent-free, water-based products means RSL gives customers more opportunity than any other manufacturer to make a green choice. Together we are dramatically reducing the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the marketplace.

International recognition

RSL’s founder Ivy Wroe has been honoured internationally for work in developing the company’s sustainable product range. Former Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills, Sajid Javid, presented Ivy with the prestigious SME Dahrendorf Responsible Capitalism Award 2016 for her contribution. The awards are managed by FIRST – the multidisciplinary International Affairs organisation. Click here for more information.

Being environmentally responsible

The natural durability of a resin floor means it’s often in place for many years without needing to be replaced, avoiding all the environmental costs involved in uplifting an existing floor, manufacturing a replacement one and installing it again. If you do have to refurbish a resin system, it is easily reapplied over the existing surface. Using resin is proven to reduce waste and energy costs.
